Q. What will my website look like?
We customise your website to give it a feel that suits your business. Whether you are a suburban pizza shop, a funky inner-city cafe, or a farm style bed and breakfast, we'll be able to create a customised website that sums up who you are and communicates with your target audience to portray the image you want. You can visit our Portfolio page to see examples of our previous websites or to get ideas from existing themes.
Q. Are there any hidden costs?
No. All the costs are listed on our Pricing page. At no stage will we ask for more money for things like domain name registration, hosting, or support, unlike some of our unscrupulous competitors. If you wish to add more features (eCommerce modules, booking and ordering systems, regular blog content etc.) in the future over and above our standard packages we will sit down with you to arrive at a fair cost commensurate with the customised services you require.
Q. Will I have to add my own content?
That is entirely up to you. We need as much information as possible about your business to launch the initial website. You don't have to write anything - we take care of that for you - but we do need some details, your logo, and some pictures. The more raw material we have to work with, the better. Once the site is up and running we can provide you with a log-in so you can add your own information if you choose (we can also give you a blog style website or separate blog page where you update content regularly), or if you're not tech savvy (or just too busy!) you can email us the information and we will add it to your website.
Q. What features will my website have?
We will design the look and structure of your website after consultations with you about what you want to achieve from your website and the current feel of your business. Your website can have a Menu page with or price lists in an easy to read format and an About Us page with pictures of your staff. We will also add a map to your Contact page so people can get step by step directions to your business. We can put a Facebook module on your site that links directly to your Facebook page (see below) so customers can follow your business on Facebook directly from your website, and see your latest news and other followers. We can add videos, artwork, useful links, slideshows, and pretty much anything else you can think of seeing on your favourite websites, all as part of your package.
Q. What about Social Media?
We can also create a Facebook page for your business, free upon request, and link it to your website, so customers can "Like" your business on Facebook with a single click from your website. If you have a Twitter account we can add a feature that displays your latest tweets on your website, and a function for people to follow you on Twitter with a single click as well. Developing a social media presence is a great way to foster a community around your business and to interact with your customers directly. It's also a very convenient way of telling your customer base about new specials and upcoming events. You will find that having a social media presence will be an incentive to create promotions that drive more customers to your business.
Q. What do I need to do to get started?
It's easy. Just fill out our simple form with your details or call us for a chat, so we can give you a formal quote and find out exactly what you need. We will then contact you with the propsal within a day or two and you can decide if you'd like to go ahead. We're pretty confident you will!
Q. What if I already have a domain name and/or website?
That's fine, we can transfer your existing domain name across to our servers and start re-developing your website. The process of transferring a website is easy. Simply email us with the name of your existing website. We contact your current host (even if there is no website attached to the domain name yet, the domain is parked at a hosting company). They email the person whose email address is associated with the domain (that should be you) with a password to transfer the domain. You give us that password and we apply for the transfer on your behalf. All free!
Q. What development platform do you use to build websites?
We use the Wordpress content management system to develop your website. Wordpress is the most popular web platform in the world, and offers the best balance between visual appeal and ease of use for our clients to add content later. Wordpress is also extremely search engine friendly, which is a big benefit for improving your page ranking on Google.
Q. What if I want additional features on my website?
We can customise your website to suit your individual needs. If you want a blog with regular weekly content that you don't have to write yourself, we have copywriters who can do that for you. We can also produce video content, design logos, and manage your advertising and marketing needs online and in print. We take away the headache of promoting your business so you can focus on what you do best. Any of these features can be added down the track as your business grows. We're confident that the success of your new website will encourage you to try some additional features in the future. That's one of the reasons our websites are so reasonably priced compared to our competition!
Q. How do you promote my website?
We optimise the content of your website for search engines like Google and add keywords and "meta descriptions", which is what search engines use to decide if your website is what a particular person is looking for when they search for businesses like yours. We then submit an xml site map of your website to Google, which tells Google what your site consists of and its overall structure. This makes it easier for Google to classify and index the content on your site so that people will find you more easily in search results. We also update popular directory sites (Urbanspoon, Menulog, Eatability, Google places, etc.) to show that you now have a website, and add links to these sites so people can visit your website directly from there.
